  • In 1971, Douglas Warner formed 1000 Graphics with two graphic artists to provide renderings, illustrations, signs, displays and brochures to Southeast Michigan homebuilders. In 1990, the company evolved into Communication Associates to reflect the agency’s expanded business lines and growth.

As many of Communication Associates’ long-standing midwestern clients broadened their horizons to other regions, Communication Associates continues to deploy more of the agency’s resources to those markets. Now with operations in Michigan, Colorado and Florida, the agency billings in the west and southeast regions of the country are steadily growing with Arizona, Texas and the Carolinas also showing potential for additional offices.
Although the agency’s core business is the real estate sector, Communication Associates’ client base is widely diversified to include financial services, risk management, healthcare, legal services, education, retail, and the hospitality industries.

  • Greg Harbeck utilizes his finely tuned architectural skills and keen sense of design to provide architectural illustration and graphic design services to meet a wide variety of client needs. His expertise in computerized design technology positions him as a leader in overseeing the production of cutting-edge marketing tools including digital illustrations, renderings, animation, virtual reality and photo enhancement.

In addition, Greg serves as an executive project manager, designing and executing on-site marketing systems including sales centers, displays, sign programs and site furnishings.
Greg is also Communication Associates’ IT director, managing the equipment and software for the agency’s advanced network and accounting support systems. He is a graduate of Lawrence Technological University, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Architecture.

  • In 1990, Pat Janik brought to Communication Associates her strong background in print design and production gained from working with clients such as General Motors, Adcraft Club of Detroit and Providence Hospital. Her sophisticated style and meticulous attention to detail led to the agency’s numerous national awards for annual reports she created for clients like Franklin Bank (FSVB) and Sun Communities (SUI).

Early on Pat recognized the shift from traditional media to the web as a key information source. As such, she single-handedly developed the interactive department for the agency. Today, thanks to Pat’s farsightedness, Communication Associates currently handles Web site design and production, interactive ads, Email design, site optimization and other leading-edge technologies.
She also continues to lead many traditional print projects and is responsible for mentoring the agency’s other web designers.

  • Susan Rober insures that everything runs like clockwork at Communication Associates.

As Corporate Comptroller, she oversees all administrative functions including accounting, budgeting, operations, time management, human resources and client reports. With more than three decades of overseeing agency operations, Sue’s capabilities include her developed ability to carefully nurture the creative team to produce measurable results for clients, on time and within budget.
